What I love about creating narrative art is this idea that a drawing or a painting can represent one part of the story and it invites you, the viewer, in to co-write the scene. This image asks so many questions: Who is she? How did she get in that room? Who's the guy in the chair? Is she in trouble? Is she being held against her will or are they both just waiting for some important piece of news? The answers are up to you. I painted this as a color study for a larger work later.
